Wish Kid in Action
Eight years ago, Jeff Lutrell created a superhero action figure. Now, that action figure has made him a superhero in his own right.
Jeff was 10 years old and had endured five years of treatments for leukemia when Make-A-Wish® Arizona sent volunteers to learn his fondest wish. It was an easy riddle, and Jeff solved it in a flash — he wished to create Razor, a half-human, half-eagle, crime-fighting action figure based on his own sketches. He also wanted a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Razor to benefit Make-A-Wish.
When it comes down to donating to Make-A-Wish, Jeff has proven he’s no joker: Sales of Razor and his sidekick, Gizmo the Fighting Ferret, at KB Toys stores have put him in league with the Foundation’s elite givers. His amazing wish has spawned a $32,500 donation; Make-A-Wish will induct him into its Chris Greicius Society to recognize his generosity and imagination.
