Teresa's wish for a laptop let her connect with friends and keep up on schoolwork during a very long stay in the hospital before and after her surgery.
She was able to finish her sophomore year and graduate from high school on time. “The wish experience inspired me to pursue a career in helping others and led me to my internship in Washington D.C.," she says.
Today, as she works on a graduate degree in public health, she has a meaningful career and looks for ways to make a difference in society.
“My wish day was an incredible escape from my daily realities,” she says, “and taught me about the importance of giving back.”
